Mechan-X by Jaime Hernandez

Though thoroughly grounded in real life now, Jaime Hernandez' Locas stories weren't always so earthy as they are now.

Robotman, a Golden Age classic by Jimmy Thompson

Jimmy Thompson's deft draftsmanship is delightfully on display in this great Golden Age classic!
Robotman vs. Rubberman!
Comicbook legend, Jim Steranko said Jimmy Thompson was “a combination of Jack Cole and Will Eisner, in fact, some of Thompson’s work topped theirs.” in his 1970 book, The Steranko History of Comics Volume 1.That's big praise considering all the raves lavished on Eisner and Cole. And this coming from a comic legend himself.

Avengers #58, "Even an Android can Cry"

Avengers #58, "Even an Android can Cry" is one of the truly classic comics of the silver age with writer Roy Thomas and John Buscema at the top of their game. It's one of those era defining comics!
Joe Jusko did an amazing job recreating this classic cover originally by "Big" John Buscema's for Avengers #58.

Theo Ellsworth’s whimsical “Norman Eight’s Left Arm”

’Norman Eight’s Left Arm’ is a story that came to me while riding my bike. Sometimes scenes will just play out inside of my head like that.” Says Theo Ellsworth about the creation of his story.
“When it’s really clear, I feel like I’m spying on people in another world. Sometimes the characters notice me spying and the story comes to a grinding halt. Stay invisible, take good notes: that is my mission."

The surrealistic world of the Flaming Carrot by Bob Burden

Flaming Carrot Comics is a phenomena that sprung from the independent comics explosion of the early 80's. It's irreverent, crude, and incomprehensible at times but a it's pure exuberant joy!
The Flaming Carrot lovingly satirized the superhero comics genre that we all knew and loved. It was like a Golden Age superhero comic on acid.

Tom Strong in "the Rule of Robo Saveen!" by Alan Moore and Jerry Ordway

Being my favorite writer I enjoy occasionally revisiting the work of Alan Moore. Today's tale is one of giant robot monsters.
Check out Tom Strong in "The Rule of Robo-Saveen!"

The Golden Campaign by Cristian "Crom" Ortiz

While browsing Reddit I discovered a post by someone who said that he had just finished the first issue of his book the Golden Campaign. I was really excited by the artwork and bought up both issues #1 and #2.

I then asked it's creator, Cristian "Crom" Ortiz, if I could do an interview with him for the Great Comic Book Heroes. He graciously agreed.
