Reid Fleming, the Worlds Toughest Milkman by David Boswell

Reid Fleming came out of nowhere. In the 1986 world of comics this work had no piers and no other work to compare it too. It sure as heck didn't fit in with the superhero dominated market, and didn't resemble anything from the irreverent 1960's underground comics either. I remember seeing the add and thinking, "How much fun could a Milkman be?" Boy was I surprised at what I found.

Reid Fleming, the World's Toughest Milkman was one crazy comic. It was a wild ride down an imaginary world which resembled an old 30's comedy by W. C. Fields. It was in your face, offensive, insane and oh, so much fun! Reid Fleming is that crotchety old neighbor that you dread having, and yet there is something very endearing about him. As much of an asshole as he is, you really want and hope that things work out well for him. And most of the time they don't but only to faults all his own. check out a small sampling of his adventures taken from his first Eclipse issue.

I'm still waiting for David to come out with a Horrors of Ivan special. No, he didn't say he would, but one can dream.
