Atomic Robo

To continue out robotic theme I'd like to explore a popular contemporary independent comic, Atomic Robo.

In 1923, Nikola Tesla created a robot with atomic intelligence called Atomic Robo. He has since become the core member of Tesladyne Industries, "a thinktank dedicated to exploring the fringes of scientific inquiry", whose Action Scientists often respond to paranormal and supernatural emergencies.

Atomic Robo was created in 2007 by writer Brian Clevinger and artist Scott Wegener. He's gone on many adventures over time from fighting Nazis, to a time traveling dinosaur, to dimension hopping vampires, and even wind up mummies.

A lighter moment in the lively Atomic Robo vs. Dr. Dinosaur.

In this episode Atomic Robo meets the ghost of Thomas Edison who was not exactly friendly with Nikola Tesla.

Writer, Brian Clevinger, made a name for himself in the early 2000's with his web comic, 8-Bit Theater, a web comic made using 8-bit graphic sprites that he created for a college class.
