El Borba is the brain child of Charles Burns, an Alternative Comics alumnus of RAW Magazine. He appeared sporadically in the early and mid 80's in Heavy Metal Magazine. El Borba is a luchador or Mexican wrestler who works as a private investigator in the style of the great 40's detectives like Sam Spade or Philippe Marlow. His cases are often strange involving cults, secret societies or underground organizations.
In Robot Love, El Borba is asked to tail the teen age son of a couple who suspects him getting involved with a bad crowd.
